Marianne Rochelle
Community Leader & Advocate
Marianne retired in 2013 after 29 years with IBM. She has been an active community volunteer since moving to Austin in 1980. During her career, she held primarily non-technical positions in the Software Group, the Austin Development Lab and the Austin Sales Office. She is a connector who thrives on contributing to team success and community advancement.
Marianne is part of the “Friends of David Smith” groupies that came together to plan a “non-gala gala”…now known as our annual A Night United signature event. She joined the Women United Executive Committee in 2018 and served as the co-chair of the Women United Gathering for Good Luncheon in 2020. She has served on the Resource Development and Marketing Committee since 2023, and joined the Board of Directors in 2025.
Beyond UWATX, Marianne is serving an 8 year term on the Jewish Federations of North America’s National Women’s Philanthropy (NWP) Board (Class/Cohort Chair ’25–’26), and is involved in a variety of ways with Shalom Austin locally (Shalom Austin Texas Flood Relief Campaign Allocations Task Force, Philanthropy Committee and Women’s Philanthropy Advisory Council). She and her husband Martin also serve on the Austin Theatre Alliance – Shine On! Capital Campaign Leadership Committee.
