In 100 years of change, the only constant is community

It’s an exciting time at United Way for Greater Austin! 2024 marks an important milestone for us: 100 years serving the community.

In the course of 100 years, things are bound to change, but no matter what happens – global pandemics, natural disasters, inequity across different groups – you can always count on community. Whether it’s the one you grew up in or you just got here yesterday. United Way is the community that will always be here – for those who need help, for those who find their place by helping others, for all of us.

We enter our second 100 years building upon a century of wisdom, innovation, and data propelling forward systemic solutions for a rapidly changing world. United Way envisions our next century as one characterized by innovation, inclusivity, and an even more profound community impact. We stand as a beacon, guiding the way toward a future where everyone in Greater Austin has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Every action we take goes toward building opportunity and driving change in our community. And now, in a time where community is more important than ever, we invite you to be a part of ours.

Our Mission

United Way for Greater Austin brings our community together to break economic barriers and build opportunity for all.

Our Vision

A Central Texas where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Race impacts all of us. It’s the single biggest predictor of a person’s education, health, and income.

To advance United Way for Greater Austin’s mission to break economic barriers and build opportunity for all, we must stand up for racial justice.

That’s why we commit to:

Looking back to understand how we’ve contributed to racial inequality

Changing unfair systems that prevent our community from reaching its full potential

Embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion as individuals, as an organization, and with our community

United, we can create a community where everyone feels a sense of belonging. Join the journey and Live United!
